When an app is downloaded from the iOS App Store, it comes bundled with a so called receipt that includes information about the purchase date of the app.
When Dropshare for iOS was introduced in 2016, the app was upfront-paid and no free trial was available. Today, using Dropshare for iOS requires an in-app purchase that can be done after the app has been used and tested for up to 7 days free of charge.
In order to make sure that customers who initially purchased the app upfront can still use the app without the need to in-app purchase, a valid purchase receipt is required.
