Dropshare 4 or newer
Dropshare 4 supports connections to DigitalOcean Spaces. To set up a connection to a DigitalOcean Spaces, you need to create a Custom S3 API-Compliant Connection in the Connections preferences after you've created the Space in the DigitalOcean Dashboard.
Step 1: Create Space
To create your DigitalOcean Space to use with Dropshare, log in to the DigitalOcean Dashboard, and click on Create → Spaces. Enter a name and choose a region of your choice. Select Private Access.
Step 2: Get Access Keys
Once the space has been created, go to Applications & API and generate a new key for Dropshare. Note down the Access Key and Secret Key as you need them in the next step.
Step 3: Set Up Connection
Dropshare 5.41 or newer
Go to the Dropshare preferences, open the Connections tab, and choose to create a new DigitalOcean Spaces.
Bucket Name | Name of the Space from step 1 |
Access Key | Access Key from step 3 |
Secret Key | Secret Key from step 3 |
Region | Selected region, e.g. New York (NYC3) |
Click Test Connection to make sure everything has been set up correctly, and you're done!
Dropshare 5.40 or older
Go to the Dropshare preferences, open the Connections tab, and choose to create a new Custom S3-API Compliant Conneciton.
Bucket Name | Name of the Space from step 1 |
Access Key | Access Key from step 3 |
Secret Key | Secret Key from step 3 |
Server | Selected region, e.g. nyc3.digitaloceanspaces.com |
Use SSL | Enable |
Use AWS v2 Signature | Disable |
Click Test Connection to make sure everything has been set up correctly, and you're done!
